Dozo

Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

Dozo is a bedtime story app used by families. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how a parent or guardian can control or delete it. A Dozo account is created and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children do not create their own accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without a parent first setting up the account.

Information we collect

How we use this information

We use the information above only to operate the app: signing a parent in, remembering each child's listening progress, applying the correct free-story limits and subscription access, and showing a parent their own account and billing history.

We also look at aggregated, non-identifying usage numbers (like total plays per story) to understand which content is working, so we can decide what to build or fix next.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics services. There are no ads in Dozo.

Who we share information with

We don't share personal information with third parties, except the service providers we need to run Dozo, each only to the extent needed to provide the service and never for their own marketing purposes:

Data retention and deletion

We keep account and listening data for as long as an account is active. A parent can request deletion of their family's account and all associated data at any time by emailing us (below). We'll confirm once it's been removed.

Children's privacy

Dozo is designed to be used by children together with, or under the supervision of, a parent or guardian who controls the account. The account itself is set up and verified by an adult. Because child profiles only ever contain a nickname and a chosen emoji, and never a real name, contact information, or other identifying details, we collect the minimum information needed to make listening progress and profile switching work for a family.

Security

We use standard safeguards (encrypted connections, access controls, and secure authentication) to protect account information. No method of storing or transmitting data is completely secure, but we work to protect your family's information appropriately for what we collect.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
